A Good Day to Ascend

A Good Day to Ascend is a 30-episode fantasy action-adventure series following Xu Ying, a snake-catcher who crosses both the heavens and the underworld when he commits an act of defiance against corrupted power. Released as an ONA, the series began airing on July 18, 2026, and continues its weekly rollout with episode 16 arriving on October 17, 2026. The story unfolds during a time of chaos when demons, monsters, and corrupt officials plague the mortal realm, with the Netherworld's invasion only deepening the suffering of ordinary people. Xu Ying's rebellion—killing a god and eliminating a court official—turns him into a fugitive hunted by supernatural and governmental forces alike.

This series appeals to viewers who enjoy high-stakes fantasy worlds where a lone protagonist must navigate impossible odds. The premise combines elements of supernatural conflict with political corruption, setting Xu Ying's personal journey against a backdrop of apocalyptic upheaval. With 30 episodes planned and currently halfway through its run, the story has substantial room to develop its world and escalate the consequences of the main character's actions. If you're catching up now, you can start from the beginning while new episodes release on schedule.
